Born in Düsseldorf in 1971. Since 1991 he has worked in advertising agencies and as a freelance photo assistant in Düsseldorf and Paris. He then studied at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne and the Escuela de Cine y Television in Cuba. In 2002, he founded field recordings together with Oliver Schwabe and the two directors decided to work together as a directing duo. Their first feature film EGOSHOOTER premiered at the Locarno Film Festival in 2004. ZARTE PARASITEN is their second film together. In addition to other teaching activities, he was a substitute professor for film montage at the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts in 2022/23. Christian Becker is a member of the German Film Academy and the Filmbüro NW. He lives in Cologne and works as an editor, filmmaker and producer.
